Stressing Jacks

Stressing Jacks

We offer a full range of stressing  jacks to pull wire from 3mm up to 7mm and strand from 8mm up to 18mm. Jacks can be supplied in short (200mm stroke) and long (400mm stroke) options. The stressing jacks are designed and built to high quality standards; they are extremely robust; reliable; require minimal maintainence and are able to withstand to the rigours of precast production.

The stressing jacks come with hydraulic lock-off as a standard. This feature allows hydraulic oil to be transferred internally down through the barrel of the jack to the lock off cylinder. This allows the internal pulling wedge to be pushed back up against the stressing grips ensuring that when the operator has stressed up to the correct pressure/load it locks the wire/strand into the stressing grips on the abutments.

Correct positioning the grips is critical to ensure that prestressed concrete products are manufactured accurately and within design tolerances. The hydrualic lock off feature saves on lost production time in having to re-stress wires/strands that have slipped. The jacks’ internal pulling wedges are located at the nose end which also reduces the amount of wasted wire/strand being paid out through the length of the jack.

Tool kits are supplied as standard which includes everything to enable regular safety checks and internal wedge servicing to be carried quickly.
