Stressing Grips

We offer a full range of stressing grips for all prestressed concrete applications from 3mm wire up to 18mm strand.

Open Grips

The Open Grip is without doubt the most popular stressing grip. It comprises a wedge in a barrel and its design enables the wedge position to be checked easily during use and allows unique accessibility during detensioning. These grips are easy to clean, inspect and re-assemble to ensure a safe stressing operation.

Spring Loaded Anchors (SLA’s)

Spring Loaded Anchors (SLA’s)  are generally used at the dead (non-stressing) end of the bed. The internal spring ensures that the wedge sits correctly inside the enclosed barrel preventing the wedges from movement by work being carried out at the live (stressing) end.

SLA’s incorporate the same wedges as the open grip but have larger barrels and a spring mechanism. The threaded cap anchors can also be joined together with a centre plug to make a double-ended joint

Double Ended Joints (DEJ’s)

Double Ended Joints (DEJ’s) enable two lengths of strand or wire to be connected together. They consist of two tapered barrels each containing a wedge and spring joined together by a knurled centre plug allowing simple and safe assembly.
