Multi-Stressing Systems

We design and build bespoke multi-stressing solutions for new and existing precast factories producing any type of pre-stressed concrete products. We can provide custom built multi-stressing and hydraulic detensioning systems.

These systems avoid any shock to the precast products during the detensioning and are much quicker, safer and less labour intensive operation than a single jack stressing and de-tensioning operation.

At the top end of the range we can provide three staged multi-stressing systems that combine a fixed pumping station; together with a portable power pack that can be handled by crane or forklift. The power pack is programmable to any compatible, combination of 3 x 200 tonne individual stressing systems up to a maximum of 600 tonnes collectively.

The pumping station is large enough to stress a number of different combinations of moulds/applications which means that can factories can be planned for future progressive expansion for new moulds and abutments and can save considerable unnecessary costs by planning the expansion around the fixed pumping station.

We also design and build simpler multi-stressing systems. These rigs combine with a fixed abutment post drilled with the appropriate holes to suit the wire/strand pattern at one end of the production bed and at the other end the live (stressing) abutment designed to incorporate a portable power pack containing the hydraulic cylinders for stressing and detensioning. These systems are usually built to 150 tonnes as standard but we can also build them up to 300 tonnes if required.

Our multi-stressing systems are different to others as they come complete with a handling frame which enables the hydraulic cylinders to be picked up and moved from bed to bed using a forklift truck or overhead crane. This provides a significant saving compared to fixed systems that utilise a pair of cylinders for each bed.
