History

1962

Spiroll Corporation Ltd was founded in Winnipeg, Canada. The company invented the first ever hollowcore extruder using the ‘Spiroll’ extrusion technique.

1964

A UK company, Spiroll International Ltd, was set up to promote sales into Europe.

1969

The International Spiroll Producers Association (ISPA) - now known as the International Prestressed Hollowcore Association (IPHA) - was formed by seven companies operating Spiroll machines in seven different countries.

1974

Spiroll International Ltd began producing machinery in the UK, at a factory in Derby.

1984

By 1984 all operations were based in the UK.

2001

The acquisition of Spiroll International Ltd by Precast Services Ltd and CCL Stressing Systems Ltd led to the formation of Spiroll Precast Services Ltd.

2004

Spiroll received National Accreditation from the Building Products Training Council for its Prestressing Training Courses.

2008

The launch of the Universal Extruder was a major development for Spiroll. The new machine provided a modular design and quick product changeover.

2014

Spiroll purchased the intellectual property and manufacturing rights for Dynacore Equipment Canada Limited. The aim of this acquisition was to integrate Spiroll and Dynacore hollowcore extrusion technology and create a programme of continued development and innovation for the future.

2016

The unveiling of Spiroll’s latest development in hollowcore slab production, the Vortex Extruder, saw Spiroll and Dynacore technology combined to lay the foundations for the next generation of slab extrusion technology.

2017

Spiroll Precast Services Ltd became fully integrated into the CCL group of companies. The company moved to CCL’s premises in Leeds, a purpose built 33,000 ft² facility certified to operate BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 management systems.

With the support of CCL’s engineering expertise and manufacturing capabilities Spiroll continues to develop, drawing on the group’s considerable resources to offer greater efficiencies and outstanding levels of service.
